This part is more spoiler-heavy.
(Nyperold has explained the term "action scene" and has told Sonic etc. the game's name for each part of the adventure, so that they have it down.)
Tails: You know, knowing that it's a game certainly explains a few things.
Nyperold: How so?
Tails: Well, take Route 101. It's so winding! You'd think you'd want to build a bridge as straight as possible, as that would be safer and use fewer materials. And those ramps! How many accidents do those cause?
Rouge: Hey, at least all your walls and roads were intact, unlike Route 280! And those big holes looked intentionally built, rather than caused by wear and tear.
Sonic: Hey, the street on City Escape also had the ramps! And such odd architecture! There's this one spot where I run in a loop, and end up running down the side of a building! Can you imagine how odd a loop on the side of a building must look? Oh! And the G.U.N. truck! Apparently, the military doesn't mind running over several tons of cars just to catch a hedgehog.
Tails: Ah, and then there's Mission Street. Why did I keep targeting mailboxes and paper boxes along with the enemies? And there's no way a regular car could use that road to get anywhere.
Shadow: Same with Radical Highway. I'd hate to pay the city's energy bill for those hexagonal platforms that rise and fall, suspended in midair.
Tails: There something just wrong about Prison Lane. What kind of sense does it make to have doors that open when you destroy the prison's robots? You'd think they'd just shut the doors behind me and lock me in! Especially since I can't seem to do any damage to the walls and bars themselves.
Shadow: And--
Nyperold: Okay, guys, I get the picture. Ready for more?

(Nyperold unpauses the scroller.)

(Knuckles stands up, pretends to kick a rock, then hops on the other foot, feigning pain.)
This is Knuckles, and I'm back!

(Sonic and Shadow glare at them.)
I been away for a while, but I'm back to kick some butt at Wild Canyon!
Nyperold: And that's another toward the "mild lyrics"... also, that's very limiting.
Knuckles: He didn't say that's all I would kick...
I shall find all the lost pieces of the Master Emerald here.
Knuckles: Nah, just three, unfortunately. I also had to get three from Pumpkin Hill, and another three from Aquatic Mine. Then we lost those, and I got three back in Meteor Herd.
Rouge: And I found three in Dry Lagoon and three in Mad Space, presumably the ones you lost, and gave you all six.
Knuckles: And that makes... nine? But there were twelve before we went into space! How... unless... I put together an incomplete Master Emerald, and there are three pieces still floating in space! I have to go get them!
Sonic: Buddy, remember all the design weirdness we were talking about earlier? You wouldn't expect them to be consistent with reality, would you?
Knuckles: I would kind of expect them to know math...
